Prevention
Prevention is the best tool women have against ovarian cancer. When looking at prevention there are three levels: primary, secondary, and tertiary. Primary is reducing exposure to a risk factor that might lead to the disease. Secondary is early detection and prompt treatment of the disease. And tertiary is keeping the disease under control or from progressing. Some of the different prevention tools women can use in each level are:

- Transvaginal ultrasound
- CA-125 (Blood test to look at a specific protein connected with ovarian cancer)

- Chemotherapy
- Radiation
- Pain reduction
- Providing comfort
